The All Garrett Trails Challenge

Need some winter motivation and want to try a NEW mountain bike (or hiking or whatever!) challenge? Join us for the All Garrett Trails Challenge (AGTC)! The goal is simple: Ride all the major trails of all the major trail networks in Garrett County between now and October 15th. Afterwards, we'll have a party at Vagabond or the Oakland town park pavilion to hand out award pins and celebrate those who have made it! Oh, and this is FREE to participate in. It's all about riding with friends and trying new trails.

So, what trails exactly? Here's the list (and keep in mind, you must ride ALL the trails in each network -- no shortcuts or your attempt won't be counted!)

#1: Deep Creek Lake State Park, including the Cherry Creek area and the Purple loop. You'll likely need multiple days for this one!

#2: Herrington Manor State Park. For this, we'll focus on the new trails that have been built, not the older snowmobile trails.

#3: The 5.5 Mile Trail Between Swallow Falls and Herrington Manor

#4: Fork Run Trail System

#5: Broadford Lake Trails

#6: Margraff Plantation Trails

#7: Meadow Mountain Trail. This double track runs for 14 miles starting at I-68 and travels south to an overlook. It's a fun out and back. I'd suggest doing this one before summer and the tall grass.

To sign up, simply complete this super short Google form and I'll get in touch in a week or two with instructions about how rides will be verified. You will need a Strava account for this challenge. Questions? Shoot me a message!

Here's to 2025 being an awesome year on a bike in Garrett County!

EDIT/UPDATE: You can totally hike or run or ride an e-bike on parts of this as well. There's no real rules as long as you do all the miles!
